I have to say that my biggest management problem would be managing my time. First and foremost, I have school from Mondays to Fridays with classes consisting of COM 3150, MGT 3120, ACC 3000, ACC 3202 and MKT 3000 this semester. I am in an Asian Interest Group name T.E.A.S and I am the treasurer of the club. I recently joined a honor society known as Sigma Alpha Delta and have applied for the vice-treasurer position. Outside of school, I work in a law office in New Jersey from Mondays to Fridays except Thursdays. On the weekends, I spend time with my boyfriend and attend service at my temple. Since my boy friend attends St. John’s University, the only day we see each other is on Saturday. On Sundays, I play the piano at temple. Moreover, I have to attend various volunteering events and such throughout the week for my organizations. Above all, I spend time with friends and strive for a strong GPA. I am planning to graduate with 3.8 or above so that I can attend law school after college. Well so far I am not doing horrible, but let me tell you it is hard! I had to put some things first above others and it can be very difficult sometimes. In fact few days ago, I was invited to join two honor societies known as Phi Eta Sigma and Beta Alpha Psi. I am thinking of joining both of them this semester. The problem is that I am not exactly sure if I can manage more if I join those two organizations. What should I do? |

My Biggest Management Problem

Hey Esther, I believe the problem you're facing is quite the common one, as I'm having the same problem. But I think you really have a sense of management already. After reading your post you seem to know very well what your goals are, and what it is that you want to achieve, not to mention you also have all that work/school work cut out for you. I can't really offer much cause to me, it seems like you already have your situation in the palms of your hands, so all I can recommend is to see if those two clubs are actually useful, and if you think it will provide you some benefit in the long run. Since your schedule already seems busy enough, and I think anymore may just cause some set backs.
ReplyDeleteFor the two organizations, I know Beta Alpha Psi is a very good networking program for accounting students. For the other one, you can check it out as Simon said if it will benefit you in the long run. I suggest you first become the member for both honor societies and then see if the activities they do are something that you will be interested. It always look good in your resume when you are involved with so many activities. Good Luck!!!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like most college students have time management problems. At least you seem like you have everything planned out and you know where you want to be in life. With so many activities I hear it's best to plan out your days, the day before and have your own little schedule therefore you won't be wasting time. For the honor societies, I recommend you join to take a look at them, you don't have to be active in it if it's not for you so you got nothing to lose
