Decision Making

During the decision making, I used avoidance and collaborating ways to handle the chaos. In the beginning I was going to voice out my ideas but it seemed like other people were voicing out my ideas for me. I thought that it would be best to just listen and save my energy from screaming and arguing with the other classmates. I decided to sit back and just listen. I did talk to the classmates who were sitting around me and shared my thoughts. However, as the time went on, I was getting frustrated because I felt like there were too many people arguing with each other and we were not going anywhere with all the ideas that we had. Then all of sudden, this one guy decided to leave the class. Professor had to stop him from leaving and ask him to stay. This has somehow stopped all the arguments for a second. However, people started to argue again. Then this guy name Teddy stepped up and started to put all the ideas together. At that point, I was collaborating with everyone and trying to pick a best option for me and other people. We all agreed on one option and made a decision. I was happy that we finally got to make a decision and Professor agreed on it. I think that the decision that we made was a best decision that we could have made from the time that we had and the environment that we were in. I was just amazed that 80 of us made an one decision together.

  1. I also used avoidance. In a group that big, not everyone can be heard, and many will have the same ideas. I am also glad that we came with such a grand scheme for the next exam despite our issues that came up during the decision process. I agree that Teddy was an important factor in the situation, and that without him, we probably would have come up with less than we currently have.
